Horsfields help victim of theft at Christmas.

In the early hours of Monday 19th December thieves cut down an 84 year-old lady’s 7 foot Christmas tree from her front garden in Chapel Lane, Penistone. The Christmas tree was planted for Kathleen Ramage as a sapling by a member of her family 11 years ago. As you can imagine this has caused her a great amount of stress and upset especially as it was stolen on her late husband's birthday.

Penistone FM came to the rescue and contacted Horsfields who kindly donated a replacement tree. In an interview on Penistone FM, Kathleen said “she was horrified” when she realised it had been stolen, but was overwhelmed by people’s kindness.

Resident Christmas Robin near Penistone

The BBC News Crew filming at Pot House Hamlet this morning.

The News team came to film the tweeting resident robin in Horsfields Nursery greenhouse.
The robin has made its home amongst the poinsettia and cyclamen in the warm greenhouse. It has plenty of water and pops into the nursery shop to eat the bird food and fat balls. It is a pleasure to hear such wonderful sweet song. Can you give him a name?
